Default water temp. problem

I was wondering if someone could tell me what controls the water temp. on the custer. Because my car is acting really crazy. I leave the car off all night and in the morning i come and turn it on and the water temp. on the custer goes to H in less than 3 min. This thing is really bugging me out i drive the car and there is no sign (other then the custer water temp. going to H) that the car is overheating. The coolant doesn't flow into the reservior. Someone help me i think its the sensor that controls the custer water temp. but am not sure. thanks.....

Check for leaks, make sure its full, make sure there are no air pockets in the system before you turn to electrical.

It could be a number of different things. I have the same setup and mine started overheating last week. Turns out the radiator had a hairline crack in it that just decided to let loose one day.

Did you change anything lately? Was the swap just recently installed? Maybe you forgot to tighten something or the waterpump is bad? Could be a number of things. I would do as stated already and check all the mechanical before turning to electrical. If you've already done that, than it's time to check for power to the switches.

Well trip out before this thing started to happen it was cool when i swaped it. The thing is that i cleaned my engine bay with degreaser and washed it down with a pressure washer. Then i left my friends shop and the water temp. went though the roof but it didnt smell like if it was overheating. When i put the motor in every thing was cool. A new radatior (Fuildyne), water pump and thermostat where installed. But everything started after a cleaned my engine bay ( the moor was installed by the way).

Hmm, is your fan kicking on? Also may want to try a compression test to see if your headgasket is ok. I don't know if the pressure washing may have caused something to come loose but I would recheck for leaks.

Yeah my fan goes on all the time thats why am thinking its the sensor that sends the signal to the custer thats making me trip out. I just dont know where its at.

it's the temp sensor near the thermostat housing. try replacing that.
