Default Oil Leak

Hi,

About a month ago I replaced my oil filter and have had no problems until the other day when I realized that my car had leaked oil everywhere from underneath.

I took my car to the garage and they said it was coming from my oil filter. I installed a new filter but I have noticed a few drops.

Has anyone had this problem or know whats the cause because its doing my head in!

Same issue, I installed a gay fram oil right when i got my EM2, *cuz I can't get my hands on any other type of filters in this crap hole 14K village*, i drove for almost 3K miles, CEL came on....limp mode...posted on HT; was told to check oil and i did. Did another oil change, and sure enough, 1/4 quart of oil was left to drain !! lol. Must've had leaks from the oil filter not being tight enough. Search around, i'm sure the DIY oil change for the D17's will tell you the amount of torque/nM for the washer+drain plug and oil filter . (or just check ur honda manual) good luck!

I've noticed this before...it sucks on some of our cars b/c the oil draining out of the oil filter just falls all over the lower engine and trans casing...I thought I had a leak but it ended up being just a little of the old oil still sitting inbetween the engine and trans...if your lucky its just something stupid like this and not an actual leak.

I even re-changed my filter and it was still dripping alittle...I just kept and eye on the oil level for the next few days and it eventually dropped all the old oil off......weird

check and make sure theres only one gasket around the oil filter and make sure theres is a gasket there at all, Did you prime? the filter as in putting oil on it before installing? cause if not sometimes its dry and it wont expand right and if its old/hot/dry enough where ever you got it it might have cracked.
