Default Wiring Problems?

I have a '94 Accord LX and my cd player recently got stolen, they took the time to remove all the wires from the back of the cdplayer so it wasnt just ripped out. but i noticed when i turned on the car, my gauges were not lighting up at night with the lights on and my running tail lights are out, both of them. I checked the fuses and am almost certain thats not the issue, my break lights work and turn signals, as well as the back up light. I guess i am asking what the hell is the problem, did a wire get ripped out? or is it possible that the wires touching surged the bulbs and they blew? i am am greatfull for any and all suggestions

do a good visual inspection, check the bulbs. and if you have electrical experience start doing voltage drops on the lighting circuit.
