im on ephatch under the same user id, and i am going to get a jrsc in spring time so the injectors will be for that.
i do want to tune it b4 i get the jrsc.
does the short shifter not shorten the throws by much, why the neg feedback on it?

it still would be pointless to tune with 440 cc injectors if you don't have a jrsc on the car. Also short shifters don't do anything but put more wear and tear on your synchros. The synchros were geared with a stock shifter not a short shifter.

you change the whole dynamics of shifting with a short shifter. I like my synchros the way they are. Don't need additional wear and tear to go thru them. I'll pass on that.

No, but that is a HUGE misconception. It is essentially so you can be lazier. The shifts are shorter, not to shift faster, but to shift easier. It's more for the feel not some mad tite quick shiftin yo!!!1
Please don't bash a product if you don't know its purpose.

just cuz i am getting the injectors now doesnt mean i am putting them on right away, you just assume i am. its easier to buy components to certain things b4 you have them that way when i do put it on i will have everything i need.

Youre going to want to tune after you get those christmas parts AND after you get a JRSC. Why no turbo?

yeah i will tune b4 and after, idk i dont like them that much, i had one on my eg a few years ago and just didnt like the feel and constant maintence i had to go threw
i stuck with na on my ek and loved it with the b18c1 i had in it but i figured i wud try na agn but seeing how i want to get 230-250whp out of the ep3 and not wanting to spend a *** load of money going na i decided to try jrsc.

well i guess getting 440 cc injectors and just holding off till you get the jrsc would do it but i just see no point in buying 440cc injectors untill needed. That's just me tho.

A true short shifter decreases throw by reducing the angle that the shifter shaft travels through during its stroke between gears. By reducing the angle that the shaft travels through between gears, the distance that your hand needs to move between gears is also reduced. In many cases, the shifter shaft is also re-designed to be shorter than stock thus creating a sportier look and feel, as well as aiding in reducing the linear throw length when coupled with the reduced angular throw.

With that all being said.. it's to make your shifts be "faster" but in reality more wear and tear on your synchros and it wasn't for "lazy" people.

sorry man but i know what a short shifter is intentionally made for. My question is a rhetorical question.

it will probably be closer to 3k with installation considering kpro is $1g and the arc sri air box, strup rh and apexi ws-2 and hondata img are a 1g. the 440cc injectors are $230 so yeah i think 3k will cover it

This proves my point. They never mention shifting faster. They just tried using fancing physics jargon but ending up saying some wrongs things. A short throw doesn't shorten "the linear throw length" because a shift throw is not linear. Rotation about a vertex creates an arc, not a line.

I say you can be lazy with a short throw because they require less work. Velocity ("speed") = (change in distance) / (change in time). Since the distance (throw) is less, slow your velocity. Less distance / more time = same shift speed with less work. If you get a quality SS and use it properly, I don't see where you can go wrong.
Our cars already have a short throw and I would never spend the time/money installing one on my EP. It's a different story when I had my Accord. It was the best mod I bought. Well, second only to the H swap.

they don't have to mention shifting faster. If you syphon out the nonsense jargon you can understand what they are trying to imply. When you shorten your shift what are you generally trying to do? Shift faster. Think about it, why would they create a shifter for "lazy" people? When you are shortening a throw, you are trying to increase the shift rate which implies to shifting faster. I know they tried using fancy jargon because a SS serves absolutely no purpose but more wear and tear on synchros. Only time a SS serves a purpose is if the synchros were geared with that SS other then that, trying to decrease shift time by shortening throw (which in lamers terms is trying to shift faster) on a car that was geared with a OEM shifter, creates more stress on the synchros.

in your "technical" terms velocity = change in distance/ change in time = same shift speed with less work. With that being said why would you get an SS if you are shifting at same speed as having OEM shifter? Do you like to throw money away for absolutely nothing? When you are trying to create less work what are you simply trying to do.. get the job done faster. The bold outlined is an incorrect statement. When you lessen your distance your are shortening the time it takes to get the job done not creating more time.
Also they did use the correct terms linear meaning of a straight line. All they did to a SS was change the pivot point on the vertical vertex which effects the linear throw, which created a "faster" shift meaning a shorter distance to get there.
