ef hatch daily driver suggestions
hi i am in the process of rebuilding my 90 si hatch and i need a new suspension set up. the main use is driving about 60 miles a day to work and back, i need something cost effective and somewhat comfortable, i have been looking at the tokico strut/spring set up simply because my 99 si has a kyb/sportline set up and i like the way it rides it is just too low for what i want the hatch to do so has anyone had any experience with the tokico set ups or would i be better off to go with a something like a eibach pro-kits on either kyb's or blues so it won't be too low. any input would be great thanks.
Sounds like you know what you are doing...
Just search the forums for those product lines...
there are so many threads about each of those products...
and even more posts mentioning people's opinions on those products.
you could even consider a full coilover setup... that is matched for you already..
---------------
btw, if you are rebuilding it... do you plan on running oem rubber bushings, instead of poly...

Why not just use the stock springs and dampers?
I drive daily on stock suspension. It is comfortable, cheap, not too low, and has plenty of travel. For a 60-mile daily round trip, it's a great choice.

well ive had this car for a number of years now and it has been through a few transformations by now so the stock suspension is long gone i have not really explored the bushing part because what i meant by rebuiliding is that my cousin was nice enough to wreck it for me so i have had to put a new front end on it so it has just become another project and i blew the rear shocks (kyb agx) a while ago when i was using this as a tow vehicle for my 4 wheeler before i got a truck so i just want something cost effective that will be nice and last for a few years till i can upgrade it when it will become a track only car, i just want need something to get me by i have looked around the site more and now i don't think i will be going with the tokico blues im thinking about some gr2s and pro-kits any opinions about that?? thanks for the replies
dont go with either gr-2 or blues. same deal, they both suck.
i have stock springs with illuminas on my crx. its great for a daily. i have no performance aspirations for this crx at the moment. but it still handles great with a bigger rear swaybar and slightly bigger front bar (not 22mm). plus neuspeed front strut bar.
the key to comfort for me was fixing the steering rack end bushing. so much of driving feel is about how the steering feels and the feedback you get through the steering wheel. fixing that stupid plastic bushing literally transforms the car back to a GREAT drive.
secondly is the tires. i have dunlop all seasons. theyre absolutely fine performance wise, and quiet and have soft sidewalls. i used my old azenis for a long while and was so glad to get back on all seasons when i finally retired those tires.
do i care that my car is at stock height? actually i WANT more travel, with all the stupid dips and bumps in california streets.

well i was digging around my mom's house the other day and found my stock springs!!!! i thought they were long gone, i think that i am just going to use them and replace the rear shocks with agx's cause the fronts are fine and i'm on a pretty tight budget and is getting tighter cause now the car runs like crap--hasn't been driven any distance in over a year and a half so i need to get that figured out soon!! thanks for the suggestions and input i don't mind being at stock height and i would rather not waste money replacing the front shocks if i dont need to cause they really arent that old. know what i mean?!
