Shift linkage bolt broke in the tranny
So my friend went to put his shift linkage on and put the wrong bolt that goes into the transmission case. He put a longer bolt (idiot). So I said dude I need that bolt, its for something else. So goes to take it out and it breaks. Once he took the half out that broke the fluid poured everywhere. The broken half is still in there. What is the man's choices to fix this?
Look for a new case? Take tranny out and bring it to a shop and maybe they can drill it out? That won't work because the fluid will still come out.
What are your thoughts.

Sorry, I am not very good at explaining things. Here is a picture from another H-Ter

The bolt that goes in there was a really long one( the wrong one
)
Went to take it out and broke! Other half is still in there and some how fluid is pooring out.
Guess I need a new tranny case or do you think a shop could take care of this for me?

ummm that's my pic and that bolt hole in the middle of the bushing is merely cast into the transmission case. It does not go all the way through it. It only serves to hold the fixed rod on the shift linkage in place. If you've got fluid coming out that hole, then you just busted part of the tranny case.

yeppers, you got problems.
In my pic above, I had removed that bolt so I could change out the POS polyurethane bushing. You do not have to drain any fluids to change the shift linkage bushings.... so yeah.

i also vouch for there shouldn't be any fluid coming out of there.
you can try an easy out to get the bolt out but i think you got bigger problems than just that bolt
the bell housing part of the tranny is acctually just the clutch housing. so you might be fine just buying that part as apose to the whole tranny case.
good luck

Plug the hole and use a shorter bolt, or just use some gasket seal on the new shorter bolt. The tranny doesn't have to hold any presusre.
You screwed the bolt through the case, there may even be metal chunks inside the tranny.

whoa. did he use an impact or something? i find it kinda hard to believe that he hand tighten it so much that it would go through a solid piece of tranny casing on the other end before it snapped the bolt on the out. but anyway, u can take apart the clutch housing and see if it can be welded or fixable. if u really dont want to go thru the hassle and save some money then go buy a different tranny. crazyness, good luck dude.
