My Gas Gauge is weird any suggestions
Ok this has happened twice to me. I had about 3/4 tank of gas in my car and i drove to school when i got to school i had half a tank (i drive 100 miles a day to and from school) anyway after school i get in my car and i have a habit of looking at how much gas i have so i see the needle just dropping slowly untill it got below the E. so i back out of my parking spot to make sure it wasnt a leak and there was none. As i'm driving about 4 miles later the meter starts to rise to where it should be. Now i want to get this fixed even though it may not be a huge problem. But i dont want to be on a date or something and then my gas runs out.. whats the culprit?
I dont know what yr accord u have, but mine is a 94 and it turned out to be the actual guage, but i think it was do to my error. whn i was putting in some indiglo guages iim guessing i slightly bumped the needle, but it would do some crazy **** !!!! i thought for sure it was just getting stuck on the actual insert after i installed them but nothing was rubbing, but it never read right after that. it would either read completely full or empty. Some days it would go up then down as if i was filling up or dumping fuel, it was out of control !!!
luckily my friend had the same car and was trading it in so i just took apart his cluster and swapped jst the fuel guage and i have had no probs since.
Not sure if u have messed with your guages or not, just thought this could help. hopefully someone else will chime in if not. id say its the guage though. lets us know the fix GL

i second that.
i second that.
I haven't looked at an Accord sending unit but based on other cars the fuel pump pumps fuel through the sending unit that has the send/receive lines for the fuel and it should also have a float that gauges the amount of fuel thats in the tank.

The fuel sending unit is an electrical gizmo in the gas tank that sends a variable voltage signal based on the fuel level to the gauge.
