Default so i bought a DA, next morning, i hear a bad dizzy... b18b1 swap. which dizzy?

91 integra da b18b1 swapped new used motor with stock s1 tranny (possibly jdm s1: shorter gears than usdm)

previous owner, from what he told me, says he DID NOT swap the tranny when he got the new motor in... tranny stayed.

so if the tranny stayed, im assuming i need a obd0 distributor, right? how can i check? if my engine is obdII 98 ls, and my tranny is obd0 s1, what distributor should i ask for?

the tranny grinds on 2nd, 3rd, and 4th!!
repair=soon...right now, concerned about distributor.

Need some more info bro, what ECU are you running. And just to clarify, you have an obd II LS motor in your obd 0 DA? And check the serial code on the tranny (on the bell housing right where it bolts to the block) and see what the tranny code is, if its a GSR it should be an s80. But tell me what ECU you have also.

yes, im pretty sure its an obdII...since it is a 98 b18b1 ls motor on my DA.

so my tranny is an s1...that is early stock usdm tranny code, BUT it can also be a b16 jdm tranny, right? and im thinking it is because of how short my gears are. ive had 4 integras and none of them are this short..so i think thats it jdm b16 s1? either way, its an s1.

as for my ecu... i do not know how to check for sure, but i pulled back my carpet...it looks just like my stock 91 ecu.

maybe you shouldn't have dropped a couple grand on a piece of trash car.....and no, i'm not acting "all hard" behind a computer...you yourself are the one e-thuggin, talkin crap over the internet

the car is almost 17 years old....things go on old cars, especially distributors on old hondas...deal with it

and yes, it is hard to decipher exactly what someone with down syndrome like yourself is trying to get across in a scrambled post, but i tried because i hav sympathy for those who are mentally challenged....but i will go back to eating my cheese....watch out for wild fires junior

I was going to stick up for you cause I've had three DAs and I LOVE them but honestly where is the arguing taking you? Get an OBD2 distributor. There. I don't know what else you would need to know.

i never said i was wise, or else i wouldnt be here. emo? wtf u talking about? never said anything that would make me seem emo to you IMO.

i DONT know how transmission affects distributor. that was initially part of my question.

theres alot of honda ***** out here...some poeple tell you one thing, other people tell you another thing. thats why i want more opinions.

im confused. but whatever. ill figure it out.

bacardi, it's NOT as simple as buying an obd2 distributor.....please keep in mind i'm not attacking you, i just want to see if he has a legitimate answer in regards to the so-called relation of the tranny and distributor

there are numerous things that he failed to post that would determine which distributor to get....he thinks it only hinges on the tranny....

and to think, i WAS ready to help you out....shouldn't have expected you to man-up and admit your fault

if you change your mind, post up your apology in this thread....then you will get a legitmate response/help on my part

I'm just going to say right now, I've never had OBD2, just 0 and 1, and I did a distributor on 0 and it had nothing to do with the tranny...I am also wondering what this has to do with anything. I know 2 may differ from 0 in some ways but generally the b18 is the b18.

You need to check your ECU and see if it has the little circle red light on it for the codes. If it does than you have OBD-0 and would need an OBD-0 distributor. If it doesn't have the light on the ECU then you have OBD-1 and would need an OBD-1 distributor. I kind of doubt the guy would have converted to OBD-1 though.

I don't know why the first guy posted talking about an S80 GSR tranny. I doubt that most people would bother with a hydro tranny on an LS, and therefore would make the cable GSR a YS1 more likely if it were a GSR tranny in your car. But like I said, have no clue why that guy even mentioned that.

The S1 USDM LS tranny should be around 3,700-3,750 at 80 mph, at least my old S1'ed B20 DA was around there. If you are revving higher than that you might have the JDM S1(I think that you would be around 4,200 if it's the JDM, someone correct me if I'm off).

I don't know he mentioned it in his posts... I just help clarify... Like GRAF-FITI said, his posts were all over the place.
