What is the stock exhaust piping on an EK coupe made of? I'm pretty sure not stianless steel? So how does it last so long then.

its mild steel
it lasts so long..because youre in california - you have no idea how poorly it holds up everywhere else

yeah mild steel. i think they might coat it or galvanize it but only a thin layer. eventually it rusts. depends on the climate and road conditions.

there is the possibility that it's alloy'ed with a little nickel or chromium rather than being coated in anything. still not a very high percentage alloy, because it will eventually rust.

Mine broken clean off right in front of the muffler (held on only by the bracket) and also broke off clean right behind the cat.

Unless they salt your roads in the winter or you live in a very humid climate, you have nothing to worry about.

Salt isn't the only thing to worry about. For example, WA uses magnesium chloride on the roads, which is debatably more corrosive than regular salt.

by salt I meant corrosive materials used to de-ice the roads.

I just get tired of hearing people in WA tell me how bad salt is for cars and how lucky we are they don't do it here.
