my friend was looking for GSR blades, so i went on craigslist today and found a set for 450, mint with new tires. called the guy and said they were still available. great, drove from sf to richmond, once we passed the bridge i called to let him know were almost there, after like 6 rings, no body picked up then someone picked up who sounded differently. heres how the convo went.

him: hello
me: we just got off the bay bridge, were near the emeryville ikea
him: what are you talking about
me: you said were going to meet up at hilltop mall to sell me gsr blades
him: whats that?
me:wheels for a car
him: Oh, they were stolen wheels, the police caught him and is now in jail. youre lucky you were not caught in this big mess
me:wow, he got caught for stolen wheels?
him: yah
me: ok bye.

the original guy sounded like a thuggish hispanic, and i think it was his dad who told me what happened.

still kind of shocked and pissed at the same time. my friend has been looking for blades for a while now. oh well, things happen for the better

haha thieves and ******* craigslist. I had my gf's brand new turbonetics 57 trim turbo stolen out of my garage. It was missing for about two weeks, and i was lookng for another to buy her because it wasnt her fault and she needed her turbo back. Went on google and typed in turbonetics 57trim turbo and the VERY first topic that came up was a ad on craigslist. And lone behold it was the same ******* turbo that was stolen from my garage being sold for only 500 bucks.(i could tell because of the specific fittings i bought from ATP and put on there and the fact that it was being sold in my area code)

RIght away i went to the cops and showed them the ad from craigslist and a picture of my gf holding the turbo and filed a stolen property report. I then called the ******* and acted like i was interested in buying it. I told the cops about this and they proceeded to set up a "sting" and me and a undercover cop went to go "purchase" this turbo. the undercover cop had a wire on him and when i said the magic words, "this is exactly what i have been looking for" it was the cue for the other cops to come rushing in.

They came rushing in with guns out screaming hands behind ur back! it was pretty thrilling i must say. Anyways i got the turbo back and those expletive heads got jail time. expletive theives but YAY to them being caught!!

If they can't show that you had some knowledge that they were stolen, not much is going to happen to you. It's possible that you'll get screwed on the deal and lose both money + wheels, but I doubt much more than that.

 

wow talking about ******* ********, after i typed that long *** post in this thread, and we to sleep, i ******* wake up this morning and go out to my car (parked out side my gf's house) and the ******* passenger side window is smashed in!!!! I HOPE THESE ******* GET CAUGHT TOO!

You set yourself up. You went on a sting opperation and let them know who you are and chances are they didnt forget where they got the turbo from. Looks like you messed with the wrong people.

Why is this in the integra forum? There is no tech, unless you consider the vTECH from the gsr that transfers to the vTECH wheels!!!!!!

Highly doubt that since i live about 30 miles away one way, and they dont know my gf, she was never involved, so they wouldnt know where she lived anyways...

lesson learned....never trust someone who types in all caps. It's either an idiot or a thief.
