Default RSX Base vs RSX Type S

(Yes, I searched and closest one to talking about was something about ECU's)

Why did you buy the type s over the base? Why did you buy the base over the type s?
Why!

Only reason I bought the base because it was cheap($8000) and I needed a car that weekend for a road trip. If I would of waited, I would of definitely gotten the 05-06 Type s.

look at the specs of both cars (interior and exterior) and you'll see why people choose the typeS over the base. If people choose the base over the typeS then it's more likely because they needed a car they could afford payments on and insurance.

The RSX is a decent and enjoyable car. If you don't care about the performance of the Type-S, then the base is hard to beat.

It's pretty obvious, really. What do you want the car for? And why do you need us to help you decide?

I'm not asking for advice for which to buy, I only want to know WHY people bought what they bought. I know the specs but I just wanted people's reasons. Thanks to those who answered so far.

I also bought the base model, but reasons for that, was also money and insurence. If i had enough money id forsure get the type s. Driving a rsx is still fun regardless..just wish i had that better motor and that extra gear for the highway heheh

bought the base over the type-s cuz of the price range.. it was ridiculous to see 02-03 type-s for 12.5-13 and my base was only 8.. for the extra 4500 i could turbo and walk all over a type-s

Yeah but throw a turbo on the typeS and you'll be walking all over a base like you was in the matrix. LOL

Actually it costs less then 4500 to turbo your car if you know what you're doing and peice a turbo kit together instead of buying the kits.
You let me know when you want to make "real" power. Gotta pay to play.

I bought my Type S on a whim... I was looking for an Integra and I could not find one. I knew the Type S was nice and I saw a Black one so I said I 'll just buy that and here I am with a very enjoyable car with a great aftermarket following! Good luck!!

I chose the base over the type-s because I HATE leather interior and I will do all JDM conversion (which is in process) anyway so why I had to pay extra?
