Massachusetts people...
Does anyone know how strict it is up here? I've never had a performance/modified car, or friends with them, so I don't really know.
Basically I'm nervous about using a test pipe, should I worry about fines in MA?

well im from RI and i dont have a problem with it. You wont pass inspection, but i just pay for a sticker anyways so it dosent really matter.
All i can say is i live in MA and have never had to worry about a sticker, nor pay more than the regular fee to get one. like all things it depends where you go. if emissions scare you then keep your cat.
i live in mass and trust me, you get caught with it and you will wish you never put it on, not worth it in my opinion, plus its bad for the environment and all that bs everyone will tell you. just get a high flow cat and you should be fine
Never had any problems... never worry about my sticker either... the guy i go to to get my sticker just basically passes you and if anyone asks him anyhting he just says the car was stock when it came in.
i've been pulled for the size of my tip (Apexi N1 w. a 4"tip) not actually too loud, deep if anything, but theyve never checked the cat etc, and as for a sticker i get it passed, put headers, test pipe and a high flow resi, with my an rsr or rsx type s tip and they wont stop you.
