Rear drum to disc possible fitments
Well the sight of my rear drums has really been bugging me and im trying to figure out a way of changing them to discs.
couple reasons to go discs:
1. i don't know how to change drum brakes (convenience)
2. would look nicer with rims (appearance)
3. Hawk doesnt make performance drum brakes
(potential stopping power)
A good friend of a mine has a 98+ GSR lying around that we just leech off of for parts. He came up with the idea of using the rear discs to put on my car. Since the 4 lug to 5 lug difference may be an issue, i thought about the using some of the type R parts to use for 5 lug, and maybe just use the GSR's caliper.
Would anyone happen to know if a conversion such as this would be possible?
What components in the brake lines would i have to change?
If GSR/typeR parts wont work, what else will? im having a hard time finding salvaged 06 civics.
any other suggestions and comments are welcome.
thanks!

well i already have the hardware (given that it fits)
i just might need some type R parts for the 5 lug set up.
and go vented discs in the process.
auto-x here i come

On the older Civics that I had, when I converted them to disk, the entire assembly had to be swapped out. From the E brake cable all the way back to the trailing arms had to be changed. Since you're cross swapping brakes from entirely different chassis it seems like some custom work is going to be done. Alignment might also be an issue. I hope it all works out, hope your the first to do this and make it all possible. Can't wait to see the results.
thanks for the input
im going to be test fitting everything this weekend. hopfully i wont have too much trouble with fitment. ill just worry about the lines and wires later. i think im going to have problems with the ABS lines though.
ill take lots of pics

i am about 99% sure that this isn't going to work......
i think that you need a newer setup....rsx, etc. as well as mc/ and prop valve
