Default Heater Core???

Now that its getting colder in the mornings, the windows are fogged, when i turn on the defrost, with the heat control **** all the way hot, it doesn't do anything. I have to have it on cold and it defogs the windows???

Now i've called schucks(checkers), autozone, and napa. None of them list a heater core for this car. Does anyone have any ideas? And i'm calling the dealership when they open this morning. Just want ht advice

Thanks

Just check the simple stuff before you buy a new heater core, like the cable that opens the heater valve in the engine bay for one. That's probably what it is... If you look right in the middle of the firewall about halfway down there's a little valve with a cable coming from inside the car (the HVAC unit) that should move if you slide the controls from cold to hot or vise-versa. Make sure it's connected to the valve and it's doing it's job.

I do have a 4th gen heater core sitting in my garage though if you need it.

What about when you slide your fan speed in any position but it doesn't turn on the fans to blow the air?

Had some audio stuff done to my car this weekend and now the fans don't turn on via switch.

Its your heater core. I changed my ex girl's last fall before the winter. The reason your windows fog up is due to the coolant in your car. Funtime now. Changing the heating unit is a blast. LMAO. I say try to get a used one. They are mad expensive at honda. I used one from one of my part cars.

is the air coming out the vents not getting hot? You might not need to replace your heater core... just need to flush out the sediments and gunk. need to hook up a water hose to the coolant line going to the core.. and hook up another line to the other end to direct the flushed fluids.
