trust me i know. ive been around cars and hondas too long to not know that its idling WAY below 1800. i dont need a TACH to tell me that. my ears are fine. all i know is that its idling somewhere around 1000. could be 1100 maybe 900 but definitely not at 1800 where its reading.

i dont know but this may be a stupid way to tell but bring your rpms up to almost redline and see if its right if your redline is 10,000 say and its past that then your know your tach is messed up

trust me guys my tach is at 2000 at idle. i KNOW when a car is at 2000. so i KNOW my tach is WAY off. its not like im sayin its off by 100rpms. its off by like 1000rpms. which is VERY easy to hear if your not a complete moron

borrow someone else's tach or get a cheapie $20 one and hook it up in your engine bay. should only take 5 mins to hook up cause your not mounting it. that should give you a reading you can trust. then you can put it back in the box and return it
good luck and quit being a jackass to people that are trying to help you.
