trust me i know. ive been around cars and hondas too long to not know that its idling WAY below 1800. i dont need a TACH to tell me that. my ears are fine. all i know is that its idling somewhere around 1000. could be 1100 maybe 900 but definitely not at 1800 where its reading.

Don't trust your ear. Trust a digital tech reading from your ignition wire.

i dont know but this may be a stupid way to tell but bring your rpms up to almost redline and see if its right if your redline is 10,000 say and its past that then your know your tach is messed up

borrow someone else's tach or get a cheapie $20 one and hook it up in your engine bay. should only take 5 mins to hook up cause your not mounting it. that should give you a reading you can trust. then you can put it back in the box and return it good luck and quit being a jackass to people that are trying to help you.

Well if you won't listen to us and check it with another tach and you are already so f'n sure it's your cluster then STFU and get a new cluster already and quit wasting our time.
