Need Help Building Bad ass Mini-Me
Ok guys i wanna build up a bad *** mini me on my d16a6 block...... Now I will be running a 55 shot of zex to take down bigger cars ie mustangs etc.
Now what kind of stuff can i Buy to improve horespower. How much money is it going to cost?
Cams
Pistons
Valves
Springs
Porting
Lightned flywheel
Clutch Kit
Maybe LSD Worth it???
Who makes that stuff ?
Can you stroke out this motor?
AND NO im not swapping a B series in.....
I was going to turbo my D series but now i want all motor with a little N20
Oh yeah and itll all be balenced etc.

1. knife edge crankshaft ($?)
2. get some eagle rods $400
3. je 11.5 to 1 pistons (with rings about $400)
4. jun d series flywheel (i don't think toda makes one for the d series, otherwise that is the one to buy!) (~$350)
5. act clutch (probably around a stage 3 ~$300)
6. have all these components balanced, as well as the stock crank pulley.
7. whatever cam and valvesprings make you happy.
8. knife edge the runners in the head, polish valve bowls, take head to shop with flowbench.
9. use ARP bolts, they are $30 more than honda bolts, but they are reusable, honda's are not.
10. put it all together with a stock head gasket, new water pump, and new timing belt.
11. put on some sort of intake manifold, preferably not stock, something with the straight runner ITR design.
12. put some sort of header on, try to get one with a 2.5" collector.
13. get it tuned!!!
oversized valves are not necessary on a honda, but lightweight units from skunk2 are a very good idea (not sure on availability for D series)
LSD will be a very worthwhile purchase. i do not know of any stock ones from honda that will fit, possibly a ZC lsd
a close ratio gearset will help you get moving just as much as all these parts put together. kaaz makes a gearset for B series tranny's that will put a B16 CRX in the 13's, completely stock motor.

I'm building a similar set-up. d16a6 block, d16z6 head, obd-1 p28 ecu.
Don't just build your engine, but also build your tranny. This is my to be tranny: a zc tranny, zc 1-4 gears with si 4.25 final drive, hf 5th gear (for freeways) and phantom grip lsd.

your setup should handle the shot of nitrous, just run some 94octane and a good octane boost, fuel pump, timing etc.. for the high compression and nitrous. i would also recommend talking to exospeedmaxcrx, he knows the sohc, and he has some parts for them(cams, etc..) good luck with it
if your goin n/a (like i was) go for a full port and polish, 3 angle vavle job, maybe nilled down too, make sure you get some ARP headbolts (long story short i killed my mini me because i didnt) if you're gonna go really high compression make sure you have adaquet cooling (another reason i killed my mini me) the a6/z6 combo is pretty good i hear, i did a d15b2/y8
its funny that you said "cams" also (you can get 2 if you really want
)from what i hear the zex street/strip cam is the best on the market for now.. they also have vavle/spring/retainer kits, the lightened flywheel/clutch should be good items also, i havent seen any kind of stroker kit for the d series yet, but look around the net, never know what you can find
good luck with this, if you have any questions, i can definately tell you what NOT to do
just im me

my question is "why do you want to build a motor that makes most of it's power when it is on nitrous?" you do realize that to properly tune a sprayed motor, you have to retard the timing and run your spark plugs on a colder gap, all these things make the motor slower when it is not on spray!! just build an all motor setup, you will be glad you did.
i get most of my stuff from nrg-racing.com there good guys and there prices are cheap you should be able to get a act street clutch for around 250$ shipped. they also carry skunk2 and aem ect....
