They are all locked because the noobs can't seem to perform a simple google or honda-tech search. And you don't even see the stuff that gets moved and/or deleted.

Also, bumping a 3-year old thread sometimes isn't a bad thing. A lot of that information is still valid. Heck, some of the threads in the FAQ are 3 years old.

For the most part, yes. This is why we have a 'stuck-up' attitude to some people, but do we really need another superhonda, clubsi or clubrsx on the internet?

Keeping honda-tech a notch above should be a goal of everyone.

I'm saying this thread pretty much goes without saying and it isn't going to stop new members from posting the same questions that have been asked for years. We have to accept that and direct them right away.

I understand about the search feature but i think you guys are a little too hard. What may seem like old news to you is new to someone else. Let's say you got rid of your honda and you bought an E46 M3 and you wanted to know which ring and pinion would suit you best. So you join a forum and ask this question and next thing you know you're getting flamed by the "todd's" of that forum..

I wouldn't mind if they offered a link. I hate when people say to search without giving a link. Those posts are as useless as the original.

I guess a somewhat intelligent person would google what they need, find the best BMW forums and then do a search.

With those 2 simple things, you could significantly narrow down your question. Instead of 'what ring and pinion is best', you can then ask 'Do you recommend the acme wondergear or the widget pinion pro?' Then tell why you came to this conclusion.

Seriously, if people want help--they need to try and help themselves first. There is no forum on honda-tech that will allow such a simple question to go unlocked.

sometimes you search and a question never gets answered... or the question wasnt asked correctly, or in the manor you needed an answer for...

For the record: I always search before i post.

That's understandable. But all people have to do is say that and the thread won't get locked and it'll probably get good answers. But chances are that any topic has been talked about to some degree--especially on a chassis out in 02.
