Default Boosted 03 Accord

My girlfriend has 03 V6 Accord and she tells me that you can't boost it. Is this true? Why is it so much of a problem.

Pictures of the car in question...

Thanks

Ok, let me rephrase. Has anyone else boosted an 03 Accord? Do not just say yes, a link wold be more helpful.

Also this is no ordinary girl, she knows her stuff (or seems to anyway). She says that the problem would be the downpipe, and engine management due to the fly by wire system. Personally I think this is not a problem and suggested a roots style supercharger to solve her downpipe concern and told her the stock throttle body could be retained to solve the other problem. It was just after she told me that it could not be done I noticed that no one actually makes a turbo or supercharger kit for her car.

I know it COULD be done, I just want to know if anyone had and what they did.

Anything is possible, I suppose. I have seen pictures of them supercharged, but never seen one with turbos.

Take a glance at this link. He's got a 7th gen accord running both the hondata k pro and the factory ecu. If I am not mistaken, he's running this on a 4 cyl(k24a4) but I don't think it would be any harder to do this to the v6 7th gen accord. This would at least solve the tunning part of going turbo. Just got to have someone make some custom manifolds and the rest shouldn't be to hard.

She was telling me that there is something wrong in mounting the downpipe???

Maybe supercharging would be more of an option? Isn't the V6 Accord motor similar to the NSX motor?

ohh ok

Yea I realize anything is possible with enough money/time, but unfortunately both are limited with me. It is just that if there is a kit out there, or if someone has done it before that would make it a lot easier.

I know there is turbo kit or two for the new accords...I'll try and find it. Most people just do custom setups.

dude i feel your pain with this j3a4 motor. I been lookin and searching for a turbo kit and keep comin up with nothin. The more i learn about this motor the more badass it seems but the harder it souds 2 modd. I think the best bet is 2 go with th newer turbos tht ppl have been puttin on the back end of the exhaust but i still dont really know about that. All i can tell you is if u somehow find a kit tell me and ill do the same.

i been lookin 4 a kit for mine for 3 years now and sorry 2 say the only reason i joined this sight. Since custom is the only way i been waitin for a kit 2 come cause all the local speed shops by me are big block heads wit there ford and chevs (and yes my stock honda wit cold air and cat back spanks their stock gaymaros and crustangs). I been makin my honda look sweet as hell till i find FI kit. as soon as i figure out how 2 take an upload pic ill show u all my saved up turbo $ spent on : 19''Tsw pace rims, 3 jl subs wit a custom box and flush mounted amps, eiback lowered, roja body kit and everything else that i would trade 4 speed NEDAY

Almost every internal combustion engine can be turbocharged. Its basically a matter of how much work you're willing to do. For example, if this Accord is an auto, you're going to have to deal with it's lack of torque capacity which may mean a manual trans swap. Fitment may be an issue as well since the J30A is fairly packed under the hood. Even with the confounding problems, there have been a handful of boosted Accords (2000 and newer) on this site. It may take a lot of searching, but you can probably find them...
