Default Some play in drivers side wheel along steering axis.

So after I replaced the wheel bearing and put the wheel back on I felt some play in the steering rack end, that ball joint that is covered by the boot. It's only on the drivers side, the passenger side is solid no slop.
My question is, is it actually the rack end ball joint and if so can you buy just the rack end? If not what else would it be?

Thanks.

im having the same problem, right now i think you can just replace the joint if you see movement between the knuckles and the joint

The tie rod end is replacable, just make sure its not the inner tie rod thats bad. The shaft that the tie rod end screws onto has a ball/socket joint where it screws into the rack. You cant see it without taking off the dust boot, but you should be able to feel it if it has play in it. Its easy if you have a friend who can move the wheel back and forth for you as you feel for the play. Good luck.
