Default Check engine light

Hey all I'm new to the forum and I hope you can help me with a problem. I just got a 88 civic hatch and it has a d16a6. Well I have a couple problems first the check engine light is on and the light on the computer on the left side floor is flashing 1 then 6 then 16. Then it also has trouble starting and after reving it bogs down then recovers. The fuel pump is on a switch so I hope thats the starting problem. Well I'd love to hear any advise you have. I've heard a lot of good things about this forum and the people on it.

~Thanks

well i think you should take the fuel pump off the switch and let the main relay control that, then fix the codes, use the search to find out what the codes are.
