Default grounds

ok, ive been searching around and have found some answers but not all, im currently doing a dohc zc swap in a crx, the car came dissembled and all the wiring to the fuse box under the hood are taken off, im wondering what all grounds are need for this swap, so far we have the valve cover the battery. I dont think the thermos stat is grounded, if it wasnt would it enable me from getting power. dont have the starter yet, should there be more than one for it?
