Default Eleanor's HPDE Track Car...

Hey guys,

I've been on honda-tech for years now and a lot of you have helped me out in making decisions on building my hatch, and actually working on it as well so I figured I'd finally post some pictures up of this thing. Some of you may know I had my new engine built by King Motorsports back in the spring. Now, currently this car is strictly an HPDE car as I let my friend 96 SOHC VTEC drive the car as well. Next season I'm considering giving TTA a shot and seeing how that goes as well as doing the regular HPDE's. Down the road I may get into racing but right now I'm not interested.

Anyhow, on to the car.

I have two sets of wheels -
Volk Racing CE28 Forged 15x7 Wrapped in GoodYear Eagle RS DOT Radial Slick 205/50/15 (Main wheels)

•Rota Slipstream 15x7 Wrapped in GoodYear Eagle RS DOT Radial Slick 205/50/15 (Backup)

The car was corner weighted without the passenger seat and 1/4 tank of fuel at 2010 lbs. The car made 225whp for 5 consistent runs. Now that the motor is more broken in I'm hoping for 230whp next time at the dyno.

Here are some pics. Originally this car was blue and looked like crap so when I blew the first motor I had it repainted Championship White. I also posted some videos under the last picture.

96 SOHC VTEC heading out.

And here a few videos of the car in action.

The first video is 96 SOHC VTEC driving at Homestead.

Wow, I'm in for this. Just skimmed through it for now but it looks like a hell of a project. That block set up is insane.

What did you use to spray the floor of your interior?
Is that the same paint as say the exterior and everythign else?
What color is it?

One thing. Aren't you supposed to wrap the header with that tape as opposed to the intake?

It is a great car! I'm glad I'm fortunate enough to drive it.

I forget what was used to spray the floor. I'll try and find out. I know that both colors are Championship White though.

The header is only wrapped by the oil pan to keep heat down. It doesn't hurt to put the wrap on the intake though.

There are theories against this and from what I have experienced both having it wrapped with header wrap, wrapped in heat shield tape (silver stuff), or simply not having it wrapped it seemed to me the car didn't feel like it was bogging due to extreme heat in the engine bay with the header wrap on it.

After this season I am going to build something similiar to the Realtime setup where is a forced air intake system right off the headlight. This should give us the best results. Right now with no fender liner the filter gets dirty VERY easily and i have to clean it after every weekend (at least shake it out to get the rubber and rocks out of it).

If you could get me the name of that stuff that would be great. I'm in the process of redoing my interior and it just like yours except it's a white DA. Still have to remove a **** load of sound deadening around the front half of the interior. I was just going to use regular white spray can paint after I sand it down abit to smooth it out. Is that stuff you used anything special? It looks kind of rough edged.

Also, where'd you get those dummy headlights/covers?

Yes they are.

I stumbled across these from a vendor that was sitting on them for some time due to a non paying customer. They came to me flat black (without the red lip) and are 15x7. Weigh approximately 9.2 pounds per wheel and I will certainly vouch for that. I can't remember the offset - but I'll stab at 43 offset. If you need me to verify I will.
