Default Koyo Aluminum performance radiator fitment/ clearance issue

I had a 5 speed swap done to my 95 Accord and I wanted a koyo Aluminum radiator. prior to buying the radiator I made measurements and noted down that If I used the radiator I would need slim fans. Then the radiator came in. I removed the old radiator, and dropped in the Koyo performance full aluminum radiator with the drain **** out. the installation was at a halt. I notice something was really wrong. Koyo made this radiator to be a direct fit but there wasnt anything direct fit to it. 1. I wont be able to mount the stock fans (though they did weld fittings for the stock fans), 2. with or without the lower mounting rubber the drain **** wont clear the subframe, 3. due the the condensor bottom mounting point on the body sticking out i wont be able to angle the radiator more to the front so that I can utilize the radiator upper mounting brackets unless I bend the radiator back.

my question is, did anyone have this problem with their koyo performance full aluminum radiator? did anyone do modifications? and if so, what did you do to make it work?

i cant answer your question directly but i wouold recomend calling the reatiler you bought from and/or Koyo directly and see if they can help you. who knows, it might be as simple as they sent you the wrong radiator by accient.

thanks for the ppl who responded. I got good news and bad. but I've managed to to install it and im just going to give a run down incase someone asks about this and is curious. I've notice not too many people mention this kind of stuff but I do hope that this could be of help to people.

I hope by reading this, it may help people prepare for what is coming when they do decide to buy a Koyo Full Aluminum Performance Radiator.

good news.

1. the radiator will fit in my 95 accord as long as you use the rubber mounts for the bottom of the radiator. (if you dont, then the drain **** will get in the way and the radiator will not lean forward because it will lean against the body on the lower part - right against the bottom part where the condensor mounts)

2. factory condensor fan can be reused. it still clears so you have lots of space to install it. (pros: its quiet compared to the radiator fan, and is just as thin as the aftermarket equivalent slim electric fan)

3. the upper mounting bracket can be reused but what you will have to do is take out the rubber grommet and turn it upside down because the top part is thinner than the bottom.

4. it looks like its higher than your stock radiator (it is) but its perfect as long as the bottom of the top tank (the welded part is lined up along the body)

the bad...

1. I had to use close to 2 gallons of coolant (honda genuine of course!)

2. the drain **** sits right on the crossmember/subframe so that has to be cut or the flexing of the body from your driving will eventually destry your expensive radiator.

3. I cut all the bottom bung for the cooling fan because theres no need for it if youre going to have hard time installing the stock cooling fan.

4. I had to temp. use the condensor fan as a cooling fan until i can get an aftermarket 14" electric fan. aftermarket fan should be no more than 3 inches thick for it to clear the a/c lines. make sure you get a puller fan.
