Help! Car wont start!
I am in the Coast Guard and I was underway for 3 months, so my car was sitting for 3 months. When I started it up the first time it was no problem. But I got 2 miles down the road then it died and I could not get it started. It would crank but not start. These are the things I did so far
-Changed spark plugs, dist. cap and rotor
-Changed ICM
-resistance checks on coil (checked out good)
-resistance checks on spark plug wires (checked out good)
-checked all related fuses and main relay
-fuel pump kicks on when I turn the key
-also put some fuel injector cleaner in fuel rail over night (clean up old fuel since it was sitting for a long time.
After all this my car still will not start . It still cranks. I am all out of ideas. Help would be great. Thank you in advance.

Turning over is a good start. If it has good compression then the motor just needs spark and fuel at the right time. Are you getting fuel, is it wet in the cylinder after cranking without it starting? Are you getting spark at the spark plug if you pull one off? Check all 4. Then check your timing.
The motors compression is good, I just had it rebuilt 6 months ago. Also checked the timing, that checked out good. I know I am getting fuel. I may have flooded the motor. As for spark, its kinda hard for me to check that by myself, cant really tell if there is a spark or not from the inside of the car. I don't have a buddy right now.
how did you check for fuel? i have the same problem except i have spark. this morning it started but then i got to work and when it was time to come home for lunch it wouldnt start. how do you know your fuel pump is working? can you hear it? i cant hear mine so i took off the fpr on the rail and no fuel came out when i cranked, but i just replaced the fuel pump...
but anyways how did you check for fueL?

Check out your beat down fuel filter. You didn't say anything about replacing it, and that should be replaced if it's old. Also, did you put new gas in it, or did you try to run it on the stuff you left in there for months?

You should probably have your charging and starting system checked. Go to a local service station or whatever your local parts store is and have them check it for you.
