Default 92 Accord Cigarette Lighter Not Working

What's up all,

My friend has a 92 Accord LX and his cigarette lighter is not working. I checked the fuse box located under the driver side dash for the errant fuse. My dad tested the fuses with the tester (you know the one that lights up the bulb if the fuse is good) and it could not locate the problem either.

After our analysis, we told him that we think it’s either a wire that is disconnected behind the cigarette lighter or a wire that is burnt out connecting to the cigarette lighter.

I just want to be sure that it's not a simple fix such as a fuse that was overlooked.

Exactly which fuse is the cigarette lighter connected to? Does anyone on here have a diagram that can tell me which one it is?

Thanks in advance!!!

If it's like my Accord, it's connected to the Radio fuse. its under the hood fuse. I had this problem before, the cigarette light conection was loose behind the trim.

i had the same exact problem...my cd player wasnt workin and i actually went and bought a whole nother one just to find that it was only the fuse under the hood...open the hood all the way to the left and back is a case of fuses...the cigarette lighter and radio are in there...just replace that and you should b good...

So, basically you're telling me that if the radio is working then the cigarette lighter should be working also. In the car, the radio does work and the cigarette lighter does not. I will have my friend bring his car to a mechanic and have him to look behind the trim to see the source of the problem.

When the problem is fixed, I will post the solution.

Thanks!!!

remove the trim and get to the back of the lighter socket; there you will find a little plastic case...pop it open and inside it, is a "pop off" connector. Resolder it back together. Put everything back together, now don't hold the lighter in until it is white hot for roasting roaches on.

Oh yea, if the radio was aftermarket, people usually unplug their cigarette lighter connector (behind the trim) because most of the time the radio fuse would blow out. So people just unplug their cigarette lighter and it solved the problem. I guess grounding issues. Just to let you know. That's what happen to me.
