Default Tuning a Poor Mans SWAP

I have a 94 Civic Coupe, with a Stock b16 Head, and Stock B18C Block, and GSR tranny. Its going to be my Daily Driver / Winter car. I am trying to get it running SAFE. Good gas milage and able to get on if i wanted to.

We tried to use a STOCK GSR base map but it throws CEL codes. I know its cause its trying to find secondaries and forcing it into limp mode.

What do you guys use on a tune for this? I have a p28 chipped. looking for a map as explained. It has basic bolt ons, a megan header, and a greddy exhaust and AEM Cold air intake.

Again, im not looking for a RACE car, i have an integra for that
I need it SAFE and reliable but able to hit vtec hard too

Thanks for the help!

yeah, its all obd1. the head is actually a b17 head. Thats the problem, the car doesnt read codes not sure whats up with it. so i am wondering what map to use or if anyone using a similar set up has a good map.

the IAB (secondaries) dont throw CEL's so try looking somewhere else

try driving a gsr with the plug unhooked they just dont engage but no cel...

I used a P30 map and used B16 timing with GSR Fuel maps. Then tuned for A/F ratio that I wanted.

B16 timing works pretty good without dyno tuning.

did you make sure all teh plugs are correctly placed..because you will have 2 or 3 plugs that you wont use...but you still need the iacv and the iat.. i know when i did my pmtr swap i had those plugged in the wrong places adn for the life of me i couldnt figure out why i was getting codes..it was not till after i searched the wiring diagrams that i found out...

its installed right, no codes. just when i use a gsr base map it has codes. But i just want to know what to use as a basemap for b16head/on a gsr block.

What ecu are you using? That may have alot to do with codes being thrown. Pull them as you get them and let us know what they are.

Like said I used a chipped P28. GSR block P30 pistons, type r head, resurfaced with flat faced valves.

B16 (P30) map and plugged in GSR fuel maps. There is a good writeup on how to do that on moates.com or phearable.net

I think this is it? http://www.moates.net/document...id=28

otherwise http://www.pgmfi.org is where the tuning info is at.

Just pay the $$ for tuning as any good tuner can get the car running without any basemap. Trust me as I did this yesterday on an autronic system using simply one number to start the car and tune from there on a dynapack dyno.
