Default BIG power problem with 92 acord

ok so heres whats going on i got another 92 accord and it didnt have the battery rack.....so before i got to put it in i was making a turn one night and the whole car shut off just died....i opened the hood and the battery was pretty much stuck to it i got it off and went about my business when i started it at first it was hesitant....the alternator then gave out and the car was running on battery....about 20 minutes later the alternator kicked back in.....it was fine until 2 days later when the alternator did the same thing....i then parked it in the driveway and today i changed the alternator then went to go get a new battery and a few hours later it did the same thing running off the battery......what could be the problem.....i haven't hooked a multimeter up to it yet or done a load test just yet but is there a relay that runs to or from the alternator
