I bought an '89 Honda Civic EF DX and the motor was blown. I bought another D15 to put back in it. It will start and run but sometimes when I cut it off it will hiccup and then not start back. I have replaced main relay, coil, distributor cap, rotor button, spark plugs and plug wires, map sensor, new ground wires, different throttle body and different intake manifold. I also have put on a header, high flow cat, and axil back. Keep in mind this is my first Honda and I have done a ton of research and I come up empty handed every time. Any and every little bit of info you guys can give me would be great. Thanks.

it hiccups when you shut it off? like a backfire or something? how does it run otherwise? did you check the timing?

 

like when i try to start it.. it backfires and then it just cranks... and you can smell gas i am not shure but it was throwing a 16 and 6 but when i reseat the computer it goes away for about 2 minits and 6 comes back but when it is running it runs good but when it wont start you can smell gas i havent checked the timing yeat. oh and sometimes when you first start it.. ideals up realy high but i can let it sit for about 20 mins and it will start up.. I dont understand it??
