how comfy are stock seats?
i know this is a bit of a stupid question, but how comfy are the stock s2k seats? i am considering buying a pair to stick in my rsx (currently have ep seats in there). however, they are blue and will clash quite poorly with my white exterior and black interior. but if they are very comfy then i may just do it. here is the set in question:
they are alright, I mean i commute to work everyday and i spend about 1hr to 1.5 hrs each way depending on how crappy traffic is. No traffic usually takes me 40 mins but i hate LA traffic... the seats are pretty low in our cars, i mean they aren't parallel when i shift and gas but its pretty low.
hmm good to know about the height, i dont like driving too low. didn't even think of that. thanks.
what is the typical going rate for a pair of seats like the one pictured? it is the nice deal that is enticing me

the s2 seats can get pretty uncomfortable on longer trips like 2+ hours, other then that they are comfortable seats, hold you well, they are decently lightweight, look nice,
if color bothers you usualy the black ones are easy to find, i sold some mint ones for 400 to a freind, usualy mint black goes for 5-7, blue mint usualy goes 6(if your lucky) up to 800 or so,
if you have a rsx with black interior id say go with black or red s2 seats
plus rsx seats sit high so s2 seats will be alot lower if you mod thier rails to fit your car

I have not had that problem.
I'm 63, have arthritis in my hips and congestive heart failure hydration in my legs. I've done four trips of 1,100 miles (Chicago to Boston or back). I did all four legs non-stop except for gas or a bladder tap.
I felt absolutely relaxed and comfortable.
BTW, if you do it, do it in black.

Thats because you're poor.

I love my seats. They are amazing.
Do us all a favor and don't buy them unless the seller can provide some tanglible proof that they aren't stolen. I fear that probably 75-80% of the S2000 seats that people sell privately are 'hot'.

Ain't that the truth.
I recently took my 2 weeks of vacation by driving solo for 4500 miles...no complaints about my legit seats in my S.

ya, the guy was asking 400 and we settled on 300, so perhaps they are hot. i decided not to get them, i feel they wouldn't look right in the black interior. plus i dont feel like mod'ing the rails or swappin the ep ones over to them. thanks for all the advice guys. i'm not itching for an s2k seat, but i saw a good deal and got attracted.

any seat from the dealer brand new is ridiculous. and 600 is not a 'stolen' price. rsx seats go for 400-500 and i bought the ep ones for 450, i think you don't have a good grasp on seat prices in the secondary market.

I do actually. I know that a legit used seat from an S2000 wouldn't sell for thousands...however there has been ridiculous amounts of individuals online (don't forget about the people that are not online to report it to the online community) reporting that they went out to their car and the top was slashed and the seats are missing.
How many people are switching their seats out for BRIDE/SPARCO and others in their S2000? MAYBE a handful per year? That doesn't explain how there could be enough for the SAME eBay user to have sold about a dozen S2000 seats in roughly a year.

FWIW, used, fair-condition first generation seats are generally selling for around $600 for a pair. I got $700 for mine when I sold them two years ago. The second generation seats are selling for quite a bit more.

I've been wondering....and now seems to be a good time to ask it: Why do people say that the S2000 seat is NOT a bucket seat? Sure it's not like an aftermarket seat which could feel like virtually sitting in a bucket. But the opposite of a bucket seat would be a BENCH seat...and the S2000 seats are definitely not a bench style seat.
