Honda Tech gurus needed to diagnoise whether valves need to be adjusted *video inside*
Hey, my gs-r has 187k miles and I haven't adjusted the valves once since i purchased it 60k+ miles ago. I got my timing belt changed at like 160k and the mechanic said my valves are fine and doesn't need to be adjusted. Here's a video with sound of my engine idling at like 750 rpm. Does it sound like it needs a valve adjustment? And what are the effects of driving it with the valves ticking? Thanks,
Regardless of how it sounds, if you've driven it for 60,000 miles without an adjustment, it's time to do one. It's not a very difficult DIY project.

could also be your lost motion assembly...mine ticked for awhile even after couple valve adjustments...found out i needed new lost motion assemblies...but for u hopefully its just the valves...
Mine ticks but not that loud. I adjusted my valves last year and only put about 6000miles since last year. How much was the lost motion assembly and what did it do on your engine when it went bad? Thanks for any info!
