i painted my car with the rustoliem satin black paint a few months back and it seems like the paint is very very soft. like running a finger nail lightly across it scratches it. I sprayed it using 5% mineral spirits and a gravity hvlp gun. Is there any way to add some strength to the surface of the paint?

 

What was the consistancy of the mix? If it wasn't watery or like pouring milk then you need to sand it down and do it again. In order to have good solid paint the paint needs to be laid thin but wet sanded and in multiple layers. Hope that helps. Maybe someone else will chime in.

 

its was laid out very this and was very watery. I wet sanded it down 3 times before i got a finish i was happy with
