91 CRX SI-R motor swap ideas
ok I have a 91 crx si-r with a jackson racing supercharged zc motor. It was a fast cars running low 8's in the 8th. but the motor has problems now and im looking for a new swap for it. What swap would be a good choice to go with?
I would like to add some type of boost to it.
(my price range is 1,100)

$1100 might barely be able to pull off a stock b16 swap, but that's not with a turbo...since you have the zc supercharger (sohc im guessing) just buy another d-series or zc and try adding some more things to it to make it quicker.
yeah what the guy on top of me said...with 1100 bucks u cant do a full swap and boost...if u were happy with the zc motor and s/c, rebuild that zc . i know thats a good single cam motor, back in 99 i used to hang with almost stock(intake, header) b16 crxs...all i had was zc, i,h,e. on a gutted crx. so yeah if u cant save up more money rebuild.

Build the ZC. Cam and rods, valve train... that will also give you more revs.
invest in an aftercooler or talk to endyne. The are a lot of possibilities.

I do, because there should be a b-series sitting in there. For 1100 you can piece together a decent turbo kit

So you have JDM front end NOT a SIR. SIR already had B-Series in it.
Why not get a newer 92-00 SOHC VTEC motor and put your Jackson on that. Makes sense to me but sometimes I make things to simple.

I have the dual cam zc in there not the single cam when i bought the car it only cam as a shell thats why i did the zc supercharged. what about an b18a ls my buddy has one in his and killed a b16a.
but ill try to get pics on here.

I had ab18a in my 91 hatch, it was a little faster than my friends b16a in his
hatch only by .4 of a sec. ls motors are tuff but the trannies arn't.
My motor lasted longer than 3 trannies.

Look at the jackson site and tell me if a Z6 or a Y8 makes more power than an a6 with a jackson supercharger. The a6 actually makes more on their dyno.
