Default Random fact of the day: OEM Honda oil filters....

would you believe it if I told you FRAM is the OEM manufacturer of Honda's filters?

Do a little research.

And people use FRAM as an excuse why Checker/Schucks/Kragens is a horrible chain...

That's why even though I work at a Honda dealership and have access to basically unlimited free filters, I don't use them.

If you want a good quality filter, get one from you ford dealership, Part number FL810. They have a very high quality filter media(twice the amount of surface area than a fram), metal bypass valve and metal endcaps. Most filters have cardboard endcaps which can leak causing unfiltered oil to bypass the filter media.

LOL, how many passes of the 12,000 do you have left.

BTW, I've used fram filters with no problems.

Haha, yeah, it poped into my head so I had to post it.

I agree in the Nippon assumption too.

As for the fram filters: I change the filter every 1,000 miles

Just get the Toyo Roki S2000 Honda filter. They're made in Japan. Off the top of my head I think the numbers are 15400-PCX-004.

The price differences are not that much apart....depends on which is easier to obtain. FRAMS at Wal-mart.....much less expensive + the oil too..LOL

HAMP=S2000 filter, both made by the same company. They're identical, except one is green and twice the price.

They have great filtration, like the Mobil 1, but are supposedly too restrictive.

ive never heard that before. i would have to see something supporting that claim. ive been running them forever and never had any problems so i guess that is proof enough for me.
