whats the worst that can happen if i dont get my rods machined after i put in arp rod bolts?
and what exactly do they machine after the install of the arp rod bolts?

The big end of the rod will be out of round and the motor will lock up. It cost about $60.00 dollars to have the rod sized.

I wasn't aware that machining was necessary. As long as the bolts are stretched properly, they shouldn't cause any problems.

Otherwise, what the new rod bolt does that will lock up the motor
