Default ATTENTION Honda Gurus 1995 honda accord rpm issue.

i have a 1995 honda accord. the problem is the rpm needle oftenly jumps around when i try to step on the gas. when this happen the ecu cannot determind which gear to be in so the transmission lock up and car dies out. idle is fine. car runs great when this problem does not happen. i have tried changing the distributor, alternator, map sensor. this problem happen after i did a motor swap. the motor is a jdm 1995 accord motor. the tranny came from a usdm 91 model accord. it all fits. everything bolt right up. i had to use a couple of washer to make up the gap between the torque converter and flywheel because of the 91 model accord tranny. i hope this is the problem, if so why though? please i need anyone that can help. this problem is driving me nuts. thanks.

Could be the Vehicle Speed sensor or your stock 95 Transmission Control Module (TCU) may not be compatible with the 91 tranny. I'm just throwing out some suggestions, I've never had this particular problem.

What ECU and TCU are you using with this setup. Did you swap the ECU to the JDM or are you running the stock harness and ECU/TCU?

Is your Check Engine Light on?

No check engine light. I am using everything stock that came with the accord prior to the JDM swap.

Have you tried resetting the TCU. Pull the back-up fuse for 10 seconds and that will reset the TCU. Did you check your VSS and all your wiring to make sure that there isn't a short somewhere or a bad connection.
