any cage builders in the detroit area?
im sure there are 100's, but im having a hard time finding some.
i found a few that dont tig, only mig mild steel cages.
i have an S&W molly 8pt roll bar i want put in my 1998 vw jetta.
i live in an arbor, but willing to drive up to about 1.5 hours away.

no dice. they said they will not do ANYTHING that is related to saftey. dont want any liability. thats a shame, i mean there is alot of fab workto be done in the saftey area.
when asked what they actually do i was told, turbo kits and exhaust.
no offense to the shop, but that stuff is a dime a dozen.

not quite what I said. We are a shop that supports the sport compact market, and specialize in dyno tuning (I have an in house chassis dyno), engine builds, and almost anything else. It's not exactly a dime-a-dozen. Try to find another import/sport compact specific shop in Michigan that has an in-house chassis dyno and does all the things we do...I'm sorry, but I do take offense to that statement.
The reason I will not weld cages is because I am not a certified welder and I said it's best to find a certified welder to handle your cage install and welding. When you flip your car upside down, trust me, you don't want any issues with your weldments...that's YOUR safety at stake. I'll stick to welding charge pipes, exhaust and other stuff.
