Default Strange electrical problem...tips for troubleshooting?

For a while now, I've had a power drain since I relocated my battery to the back. I'm using an odyssey PC680 and a painless performance battery relocation kit. Everything is wired how it should be and I have never been able to find the draw. It killed the battery one night within 5 hours and hasnt done it since. Even after sitting for a week. thats just a little background that may or may not pertain to this...

Driving home today, I see my clock and cd player fade out (get dimmer) and the cd player turns off and on. So, I assume a battery issue. I continue driving home, and the lights turn off completely. Nothing electrical worked in the car and it was spitting, sputtering and wanting to cut off unless I had the rpms at around 5K+. I assume igniter problem on that end. All the gauges in the cluster stopped working while it was doing this sputtering. I was really worried that my distributor was going to give out on me on my way home. It's done it before, a few years ago (igniter).

Out of nowhere, as I'm haulin *** down the interstate to keep it runing, everything comes back to normal. Turns out im at about 5500 rpm and 105-ish mph. It ran fine all teh way home. I have a code 43 for fuel supply system. Had that for a while and it causes it to sputter sometimes but NEVER anything like this. I've replaced the main relay and still have that code.

Sorry for the book, but I just wanted to be as descriptive as possible. Has anyone had this problem before? If so, what did you do? Could it be a faulty ECU? I'm using an obd0 P74. I will be converting to obd1 with a P75 running hondata in the next week or so.

TIA!

Sounds like a problem with your alternator. Check all connections, if ok, test the alternator. If alternator ok, make sure your battery relocation wire is large enough to transfer current the distance (even with painless reloc kit).

I had this same problem and turned out that the wire that feeds back to battery (through the harness) was not connected at the fuse block.

I would ignore other problems until that is fixed as this will throw other codes associated with voltage change.

with the car off, the battery is putting out 12.5V. Alternator reads that same voltage. When it's at idle, I get 13.5V from teh alt and battery.
