Need help choosing tires...
trying to take advantage of the deal going on with discount tires so sort of limited to the tire chooses. as far as use-age; a little "spirited" driving here and there, some drag strip time but not much at all, and needs to be good wet/dry traction (daily). as for price, no set amount but i don't want to be spending too much...
the stock tire size is 215/45R-17 and this is what they have...is it worth it go a little bigger?

Will you be using these tires in snow and frigid cold, as well as in moderate to warm temperatures? (It's hard to tell since you didn't bother filling in the location in your profile.)
If so, you need an all-season tire. I recommend the Kumho ASX, $98/tire before the $100 off (which works out to $292 for the set).
Otherwise, I recommend two choices. If you're looking to save money, get the Kumho SPT, $96/tire before the $100 off ($284 for the set) - very good dry traction, excellent in rain, lasts a reasonably long time (25-45K miles). If you're willing to spend more for better performance, get the Goodyear F1 GS-D3, $141/tire before the $100 off and $40 rebate ($424 for the set after rebate) - outstanding dry traction, outstanding in rain, and lasts a reasonably long time (25-45K).

No. If you're looking for more performance, spend a bit more for the F1 GS-D3 in your stock size.

Awesome thanks. Where does the line cross between all-seasons and "performance" tires with colder weather?

North of Texas.
Seriously, summer tires are fine down to about freezing (32 degrees F), not so good in snow or much below that temperature.

What about the BF goodrich g-force sport. They also have a $40 rebate... I'm thinking about going out and getting those myself later today.
...in socal you have to have the tires installed for the $100 discount

Haha cool, so do you still suggest getting those other tires you stated earlier?

I wouldn't. The Kumho SPT is much, MUCH better than the g-Force Sport. And the SPT is cheaper, even after the rebate. This one's a no-brainer. Get the Kumho SPT.

Not true. You can get the tires shipped from Discount Tire Direct (their internet division), and get them installed wherever you want (or not at all, if you want).
It sounds like you're asking a local Discount Tire retailer (not their internet division) to match the website price. A local retailer can make any deal they want.
