sedan hood/headlight question. +speedo cable
main questions--
does the 89< EF hood and headlight fit 90> EF?
and anyone have a write up/how to on replacing the speedo cable?
sorry guys for putting up so many topics about my same sedan.
anyways, im trying to keep the costs down on my civic repair. it had a minor... front end accident which left the hood, bumper, headlight, and the radiator support bent/broke/cracked etc.
anyways i managed to find this civic sedan like mines except a 89< (mines being 90>
anyways i got the bumper from it, but theres a gap between the bumper filler, reason being.. cuz the faced lifted EF's had a diffrent mounting point.
i also ghetto repaired the radiator support by pulling the front end with my other car.
my final steps to the my repair includes 3 questions...

speedo cable:
remove guage cluster cover, unclip cable fron back of cluster. unbolt vss from differential of trannsmission. its easier to disconect the cable from the vss out of the engine bay. pull the old cable through the firewall. if i remember right, you can get to the hole under/behind the dash on the driver's side. reverse process for install.
it has been over a year since i've messed with mine since i'm using an electronic vss now. anyone feel free to correct me.

The cluster cover has two removable pieces that conceal
the screws..
Look through the windshield at the cover and you will see them..
The cable I believe had to be pulled into the cockpit rather
that through the firewall because of the large connection that
goes to the back of the cluster..
There are a couple of looms it goes through under the dash
that can be a pain in the process..
Tying a string to the old one may help to pull it back through..
Location of connection at trans:

The green line should be inserted all the way to where the slot is:


It is then held in place with the clip which is usually found inside the rubber cover:



You may have to turn the cable until it lines up with the drive in the sensor...

congrats to me, i have fixed my honda... dunno if u guys want to see pics cuz it just looks like a stock civic.
