its not going on a honda but how wide a tire could you fit on a 16x7 wheel? would a 235/45/16 fit ok? or would it look too big? tyia

So unless you want to tell us what kind of car (model, year, version) the tires are going on, your question doesn't provide enough information to answer.

And remember, if you're looking for better performance, the biggest factor is what kind (make/model) of tires you get, not how wide they are. So concentrate on buying better, stickier tires, not wider tires. For example, on an '88-91 Civic for street use, your best performance will come from the Falken Azenis RT-615 in 205/40-16 (or, for a longer-lasting tire that also does well in rain, the Goodyear F1 GS-D3 in 195/45-16).
