cv shaft popped out. doh!!!!
well i picked my buddy up from the bar the other day and i pulled up to a red light. there was a cop sittin at the other side goin across ways form me. i went to take off and nothing happend. he pulled over and helped me move the car to a parking lot. i checked everything over and found nothing. it was weird cause it didnt make no noises didnt feel anything at all. next day i jack up the car and i found out that the passangers side cv shaft had popped out of the tranny. has this happend to alot of people or did somethin just randomly happen to me??? oh by the way i have a jdm b16 swapped 91 crx
I had this happen to my crx for years. I had a D16 motor and trans. I bought new axles from Advanced Auto Parts
The passenger side kept popping out. I ended up putting the Dx axle back into the trans with now probs at all. I lined up both axles side by side, both looked the same. Must have been a cheap New POS axle! You better filler up with some trans fluid. I dident and lost a trans for that.

This problem is typically caused by a faulty or missing C-clip on the end of the axle. It could also be caused by some other issue, including bad machining on the inner joint or a differential problem.
Where did you get the axle? Did it have a retaining clip on it? What mounts are you using?
As someone mentioned, make sure to refill the transmission to the proper level when you replace the axle. I've seen too many transmission bearings destroyed by running the trans low on fluid . . .
