Default Any way to improve look of flaked clear coat?

I just bought a '94 GS-R and the paint on the hood, roof and trunk is in pretty rough shape. The rest of the car looks decent. Is there anyway to improve the appearance without repainting and/or investing a lot of money? I'm not expecting perfection but I'd just like it to look a little nicer.

Here are the pics of the hood, roof and trunk:

You would need a repaint of those parts. The clear has delaminated. No way to fix it without new paint.

nothing you can do about it. you can wetsand it off and polish it but you would have no clearcoat obviously, and it wont look as good as new paint, but look better than it does now.

maybe this helps, I compounded my old hatch which has clearcoat failure. Obviously the oxidized clearcoat was still there but it looked alot better, especially in person. I didnt wetsand it or anything though.

another option is to sand it down and get automotive spray paint that is the same color, that stuff usually turns out decent if your on a budget.
