Default IAC (idle air control valve) ?

My check engine light is on. The code is 14 which is IAC. I bought a new one from the dealer and replace it. I erase the code with a scanner and next day it came back on. When the check engine light comes on, the car idle up and down. Please help? Its a 96 gsr.

take it to the dealer, and get another iacv.. it probably was a defect. before you do that, check the coolant level in your radiator.

How to check CEL

Did you make sure the coolant doesnt have any air?

Remove the radiator cap and start the engine, try to squeeze the radiator hose and burp the air bubbles out..

Also Under the hood There is a fuse box.. There is a 7.5amp backup fuse..(right next to the ecu fuse) Pull that fuse for 15 seconds.. It will reset your idle..

Most likely you got a defective IACV.. also is the connector plugged in all the way?
