Default So what'll break next on my EG?

Ive had my 92 CX since early 2004, and i've taken it from 75k miles to about 110k. So far, i've only had to replace the normal stuff, main relay, timing belt, muffler, brakes. etc. Im trying to plan out or figure out at least whats next to go on my car.

Axles?

Ive also noticed a rattle that goes from 1500-1700rpms, i figured it was the manifold heat shield, so i took it off, but it still rattles. Any ideas?

heat shield for the cat? Um your axles "shouldn't" unless the boot tears and releases the grease inside. Other than that i'm not sure what else "usually" goes bad around that mileage since i have never owned one with less than 150k lol.

There's no heat shield on the cat? Should be unless it has already been taken off.

is your rattle sound coming from right around the engine, or the back of it? cause i have a rattle in mine too that i thought was a heat shield, and its at the same rpm as yours.

Sometimes that rattle can be the insides of your resonator or catalyitc converter that has broken up. I have seen that many times at my shop. In that case we usually let it go unless it pisses the customer off to the point where they just can't stand it!!!

Hard to tell where exactly, it only happens under load so i can't reproduce it when under the hood opening the throttle.

I would look into the cooling system. Check the radiator. Honda radiators tend to develop leaks around 90k. Replace the hoses, too. Like others have said, axles shouldn't need attention, unless you see the boot torn. If you do need new axles, get ones from Autozone, NAPA, etc. where they offer lifetime warranties on them.
