96 civic ex- manual transmission noise
I recently got a used 96 civic coupe ex with a manual transmission. I love the car but recently ive been getting a reoccurring noise, a clicking sound in lower gears. This isnt all the time and is occasional. The other day the car was making the clicking noise and i was driving up and down these hills and when driving slow i noticed my clutch was weak. i pulled over, put the car in neutral, and tried to diagnose the problem but soon after the clutch was fine again. I didnt really smell burnt clutch or whatnot.im wondering what the problem could be....any takers?
P.s. the car is 100% stock with no mods

go to a quiet area. sit in your car and just chill in neutral with the clutch let out. listen closely do you hear any clicking noise out of the ordinary. now press the clutch in, if you heard a clicking noise does the noise go away while you hold the clutch down.
if the above is true its the input shaft.
other then that i dont know so bump

i mean it wasnt really doing anything when i would release the clutch in gear. I had to give it alot more gas then usual to make the car go.
im having the same or a similar problem. as soon as i start it, i let out the clutch and the clicking starts, then i push the clutch in and no noise. my car is a 96' cx. all stock. someone said it was the throwout bearing. but wouldnt it have gone by now????please help
dont understand fully what your saying! but you should replace your clutch probally before it get worse!the clicking noise might MIGHT be your axle but i dont get what your saying fully so i cant be sure about the clicking noise. explain clicking noise a little better!
