93 Accord / Engines / Transmissions
I have a 1993 Accord / 5 Speed, all with 175,000 miles. I don't want to modify it for performance, but I would like a fresh motor and trans before it gets too high (up in the 250+k mileage). Which motors will directly bolt up to the stock transmission? I don't mind having to re-wire anything or replace the ECU and sensory equipment, but I'm not looking to do extensive work otherwise like different axles, etc. I'd like to use my stock axles if possible.
There are many different F series engines. I don't want an engine with FRM cylinder sleeves, so the H series is out of the question. I do like the H transmission though because they are probably fresher than a stock 93 Accord trans. Will this bolt directly to my setup without using different axles and such?
Any other ideas considered. I just want a RELIABLE and economical motor and trans to squeeze another 250k out of my car, maybe even more.
Thanks for the help

well, then why not just stick with another F22Ax engine from any 90-93 Accord?
they are good strong motors, I mean the original one has lasted this long why not go with another since you are just looking for a simple and straight forward swap, can't get any more simpler or direct swap than the same thing.
You can get those motors cheap... Just do a complete tune-up (timing belt, replace the seals and gaskets, water pump, adjust the valves, etc.) and you'll have a nice fresh motor that should be good to go for a while

I was thinkin about it. I was just hoping to get something fresher and with a more efficient design; not necessarily more powerful. I'm not sure of the gas mileage but I would imagine a dual cam motor would be more efficient.
