Default Need a little timing info

I just put a pre obd z6 in a crx, every thing is running good except for the timing, if know about a pre obd z6 you know that only two of the bolt holes line up. Well from where its bolted i have to turn my distributer about a 1/4 turn clockwise and the timing smooths out perfect. What way would i have to move the cam gear so that i could get the distributer back in line with the and the timing pretty close. clock wise or counter? Thanks for your help
