Tranny Leaking Oil????Clutch Slipping???HELP
I orginally posted this in tech, but im hoping you FI guys might know.thanx
I have d16z and the tranny is just gone. I put new oil in tranny and its leaking back out. I have a spare tranny to replace it with, but my main question is the clutch. Its a act clutch i bought less then a year ago and should be in good shape still. But is slipping most likely to oil all up in the case. Would i be able to reuse the clutch? Clean it really good with brake cleaner?????

once the organic material meets oil forget about trying to clean it, it most likely absorbed it all. And are you sure that it is your tranny leaking the fluid, and not the rear main seal dumping engine oil on the clutch? Just a thought!

Yes its the tranny. I removed the metal sheild thats in between the motor and the tranny and the rear of the fly wheel is clean. I got a mirror and a flash light and peeked in the tranny threw the opening in the front (Where the fork goes) and its a mess in there. Also if it was the main seal i would notice the differance on the dip stick because the oil puddles are pretty bad but the oil level is good.
So is the clutch going to be reuseable? Its practically new. thanx

damn my reply didnt work ill try again!!
sorry if it shows up twice..
i dont think that you will be able to reuse that clutch especilly if it is saturated with fluid.
