Default Reverse light switch

So my reverse light haven't been working for the past month or two so today I decided to stop being lazy and diagnose my problem. Worked my way to the reverse light switch on the top of the transmission (D16Z6), jumped the connection and the reverse lights came on....bad switch.
Having a hook up at the Honda dealership, I went and ordered the part, it'll be here tomorrow.
So tonight, I am backing into a parking spot, take a triple-take out my side mirror and notice that I can actually see behind me. Get it out of reverse, and back into reverse 2 or 3 times....my reverse lights are now working for some reason!! I'm guessing it was a bad/dirty connection.

Not wanting to flake on my guy and the dealership, I am still going to go in a pay for the switch since he ordered it for me.

So basically, my question is are the reverse light switches on the transmission all the same between series (D16, D15, B16, etc...)?

Thanks in advance...
