What distributor would i use with a JDM B16A if i put this motor in a 88-91 Civic Hatch? Any help appreciated. TIA.

 

you could use a 94 del sol vtec dist i think

 

you cannot use a del sol vtec - it's obd1, not obd0.

this has been posted a few times recently, but here goes again -

you can use a 90-91 ls distributor - apparently you have to knock off the leg near the vtec solenoid.

you can take the guts out of a 90-91 ls distributor & put them in your b16a distributor body.

you can get your current distributor rebuilt - check www.moto-parts.com

you can have a friend in japan or europe buy you a new one from a honda dealer & ship it to you.

you can try to find a used/new one for sale in classifieds or on partstrader.com

that's all the options i know of!

i was wondering the same thing. what kind of waterpump and basic stuff like spark plug and wires do i use for a b16a1 sir1

 

As for those parts just get the ones from b16a2. They will fit fine. Or Del Sol b16a motors.

 

on the water pump, i have a 1st gen b16a took the water pump off and it is a 22 tooth, the pump for the us b16a's is the same housing but has a 19 tooth. the 94 and up gsr tegs have the 22 tooth.

 

sorry for being real stupid , but what waterpump should i use for my b16a1. can i use the 90-93 integra b18 water pumps? reason im changing the waterpump is cause hondamotorsonline says that you need to change the waterpump, spark plug and wires, rotor, timing belt, and tension pulley before you fire up the motor.

 

can someone tell me if this is correct.....
